Resident philosopher Max Hutchins came out with a wonderful statement the other day - "Summer is a bit of a false friend". It was far too poetic for my liking and my concern is that he's attempting to make a play for the throne. I'll be sure to nip that in the bud pronto. Despite my concerns though, the man does have a point.
Summer has been fantastic, however my word has it been busy and that much is reflected from the quiet pauses on here / our social channels. We all have our own lives and the past 2/3 months have seen all of them go into overdrive.
It does mean we've had to take a step back from Social Media, which isn't too much of a bad thing. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty terrible if you're trying to make a living as a self-promoted band who's music would have definitely been more successful in 2003.
Anyway, here's a quick summary of what you've missed out on:
Aidan is currently reaching the end of his PhD. It does mean that he will potentially become the most qualified man in music, second only to Queen's Brian May. He has started caring for Badgers a considerably great deal more.
Charlie is currently on tour with Katy celebrating the fact that they are both legends and getting married. The photos have been beautiful. I've cried. Lots.
Max has settled into his new job building perspex tubes for hamsters. Some say he's this generations piano-key tie man. I'm still not certain.
As for little old me? I've also started a new Job. That's right, despite the glamorous life style, fast cars and even faster nights out (Real legends get 8 hours a night), I too have to maintain the 9 to 5 hustle. Bills to pay, mouths to feed. You know how it is.
In a sense it's like the four of us are living double lives - you know businessmen by day, fighting crime by night. Or was that Batman?
Maybe I should become Batman.
I'll add it to the to-do list. Which is relatively big given the new job I've started.
Teenage fantasies aside, I'm drinking deeply on the corporate cool-aid and enjoying it but it means I've been a bit lax on here. Don't worry they've treated me good - I got a free hoody and I'm diving headfirst into things.
Speaking of Merch - thank you so much to everyone who's grabbed a BL Logo Tee. The response has been amazing and if anything it's made us realise that we were bloody idiots for not getting them made sooner. Be sure to come down to Hoxton Colours on 02 October to grab one. Who knows, you may even see a caped crusader on the stage?*
All my love,
*you most certainly wont. I can absolutely guarantee this.
